Hi, I was playing last session with a 17 level wizard who died because a Balor cast implosion on her ( I know implosion is not one of his usual SLA, its form the Bastion of broken souls). 3 rounds after, the rest of the party killed him and exploded for 50 points of damage.
My GM ruled that because I was dead in the floor, all my magic item were unatended, so thay had to make saving throws or suffer damage. The result was that all my magic items were lost. We are in the final part of the adventure, and I will not be at full power for it (well, even not at 50%) . What about the spellbooks? They were on my backpack, and I dont know if they survived the blast, as they were not magical and take full damage for the explosion. My GM has not told me anything about it, but what would you rule about it?
If the books are destroyed, can the party cleric cast a miracle to recover them and part of my gear ? Any advice will be welcome. Thanks
