Because if you are making someone a most wanted criminal in Australia for a crime commited in the US, you have to be putting a pretty fair amount of effort into the pursuit. In short, I don't think the robbery is the main reason why she was being hunted. I think someone else was pulling strings to get her/get back at her, probably because of the aformentioned "Man She killed, who she loved". I suspect weathy powerful connected parents most likely, probably objected to son's marrage/attempted marrage to Kate. He died somehow in the conflict, both Kate and X's parents blame her for his death.At least that's my suspicion.</blockquote>
