A few personal observations A few personal observations about the episode: The scene between Locke and Sayid seemed strange to me. I wasn't even aware that Locke knew about Sayid's plan. Also, his suggestion that Sawyer could have jury-rigged a slow fuse to lauch his bottle rocket at the precise moment after both other rockets had been launched seemed outlandish to me. Jurry rigging a slow-fuse with cigarettes isn't all that complicated, but improvising a precise time-delay fuse set to go off at 5:01 pm, for instance, is ridiculous. Either Locke didn't understand the precise nature of Sayid's plan, has no idea what he's talking about or he was purposefully misleading Sayid (who he knows hates and suspects Sawyer anyways). I supose, now knowing that Locke was aware of Sayid's plan, that Locke could have been the one to have whacked Sayid, though I'm not yet counting out Boone. Did anyone else notice that the first time we see Claire this episode, she's writing in what appears to be a lined note-book; the only person I can recall ever being shown to do so. This would seem to be a good indication of who the author of the Lost online journal is. I have to go re-read it in it's entirety to see whether the entries match her actions. Upon going over the online diary, it's pretty clear that the author isn't Claire because she's mentioned by name a few times in the third person. The author is almost certaintly a woman. Of the main characters, I'd say that Shannon is the only likely candidate, though she doesn't mention anything about launching the bottle rocket or about nearly choking to death from asthma. I suspect that the author is simply one of the nameless survivors on the island. In fact, the author actually refers to another nameless survivor, Larry, who asked her out. With his awed comment: "that was like... a Jedi moment..." it is now official; Bailey is a Geek like us.
