And there are too many examples like that.

The whole: to use this, refer to this, then refer to this...

That seems to go against the 4E ethos. What we have seen, and been told, there should be a lot less.

But you never know.

It was an admirable idea, to reduce redundant text, but in practice it turned out to be a big annoyance. I think they've learned their lesson.

Its like the druids wild shape. That thing was broken out of the box because it referred to two different layers of spells, and it was hard to tell what parts of those were included in wild shape. I figure I just ask the dm how he does it and we come to a compromise. But really It shouldn't be that hard.

And this is coming from someone who has druid as a favored class.

Magic circle against evil is the same way only not as bad.

If the way wizard spells (or powers or whatever they are called in 4E) are provided with the wizard class description and not in a separate spells chapter is any indication, I would guess you'll have little to worry about.

Spells (or Arcane Powers)

Considering this was also a problem in 1e I'm not so confident that the lesson will be learned this time around. It's been around a while and they have yet to really fix it.

What we've seen so far in regards to powers and monster stats leads me to be optimistic on this front too.

Though, admittedly, most of the problems with this are with higher-level powers. I really hope they don't have higher level powers referring to lower level powers. They already have so little text that it would take almost as much space to refer to another power as it would to actually describe the effect.

In any case, time will tell.
