[QUOTE="Nebulous, post: 6518937, member: 31465"] So I'm trying to blend the last parts of Lost Mine with the backstory of Smoke Plume Mountain. Well, Return to SPM, it's very different than the original. So this wizard Keraptis has magic scrolls and if you read off them or try to memorize it, there's this weird copy of a fragment of his soul that gets imprinted on you, taking up one of your permanent 1st level spell slots and swaps it out with a special spell. But eventually you go crazy and die or something, but before you do you believe you ARE the wizard Keraptis. I actually find it all very confusing, I'm going to have to change some stuff to make it simpler. Anyway, that's why these two hooligans had the K-imprint tattoos, they're branded with a sliver of the Keraptis wizard and both think they ARE the wizard, or they will think it eventually. I hope at least one PC tries to read a scroll, then they'll get imprinted too and the only way to solve the puzzle will be to go to White Plume Mountain. But, you know how players are. It might get packed into their bag of holding and never be seen again. So I need some backup plan to get them into the plot without them knowing they're being railroaded into the plot.
