The serious problems with TTT, though, I don't know if they can be solved just through more footage:<ol> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">Crappy dialogue. There's at least three moments in the first twenty minutes of the film where characters say things just so that we the audience will understand. Bad screenplay, bad.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">The "discovery" by Treebeard that Saruman's been a bad boy. It cheapens the whole moment.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">The "Massive" battle scenes keep us from empathizing with the characters, because we aren't sufficiently aware of their situation to be worried. Compare with the climactic scenes of The Fellowship, where you know enough about everyone's situation to be completely on the edge of your seat. [/list=1] Of course I'll buy it and I'll watch it a thousand times. Even with the short jokes and shield sliding and far-too-quick-to-be-effective attack on Orthanc. And I'll just keep my fingers crossed for Return of the King...</li> </ol></blockquote>
