Wondering if anyone knows anything about site like this - lowcostdiscs.com. bargainboxedtvseries.com, and the like. The prices are, as the name might suggest, low cost - a lot lower, in some cases, than somewhere like Amazon.

Which, naturally, makes me wonder why.

It's possible they're able to sell them below the prices of Amazon and the like by not having a brick and mortar store, and not taking up as much space in a warehouse that the really busy online retailers have to pay for. In theory, that could allow them to price lower.

However, being a cynic, I'm more inclined to believe that something shady is going on - either high-quality copies, or stolen, or what have you.

Depends on how much lower. Some places are just naturaly cheeper, or got a good deal.

There are a few sites that rate online retailers, check those.

A quick google search on lowcostdiscs gives me the impression as a low end type store. Some get great service, but others never get their products and no responses to emails about the problem.

Yeah, I too order from them quite often. Infact I bought my last to WotC books from them and plan on getting EtCGH from either them or www.Buy.com, which ever is cheaper with the lostest shipping. www.DeepDiscount.com (they've just change just a little while ago) has the lowest price for the 7th HP book at under $18 with free shipping that I've seen so far.

I have bought from LowCostDiscs.com and DeepDiscountDVD.com and found them to both be great (received my item in 3 day from LowCostDiscs.com and 4 days from DeepDiscountDVD.com, both times I consider exceptional). I have not bought from bargainboxedtvseries.com, so I do not know about them. I was doing a search for them which pulled up this site. I want to order from LowCostDiscs.com or DeepDiscountDVD.com (since I know I can trust them), but they do not have some of the DVD sets I want. Does anyone know anything about bargainboxedtvseries.com?
