Lux Aeternum for True 20 is out on PDF

I've been waiting for the Lux Aeternum setting book for True 20 ever since I got the True 20 system, as it was my favourite of the four settings and also fitted in nicely with a True 20 Future homebrew I'd been thinking about doing.

I happened to glance at the Black Wyrm website, and found the PDF came out on 19 February, with the print version to follow in March.

Is the product launch a secret, am I the only one who is interested, or has there been a massive blaze of publicity which I have inexplicably failed to notice?

I'm with you on all the True20 settings. After the initial burst it's been, well, bleh.

I keep waiting on Amalara (?) to come out with anything, ANYTHING for Land of the Crane. I didn't buy the True20 Worlds of Adventure but was eagerly waiting for the LotC books to make it out. They even announced hiring another writer.

Now that is been months, there's been nothing except for a calendar and one other freebie.

After the system's initial launch, I think only interesting settings will get people to try True20 out. Those that were looking for a new system have either adopted it or moved on. If GR wants to continue getting any sales out of True20, they need to make sure thier license holders produce the goods.

I've also been working pretty hard on the Blood Throne setting, and have been providing updates on the True20 message boards, and (without trying to be a spammer about it) here on enworld.

The Survivor's Guide to the Age of Blood (The first full length sourcebook which expands on the material released in True20 Worlds Of Adventure) is coming along quite nicely and I expect it to be out very soon.

I just started up a yahoo group about it, which may be of interest to you.

You can check it out here:

Lux Aeternum now appears on the EnWorld news for Thursday 22, so forget I said anything ...

Its got some great fluff, descriptions of the two settled star systems, and hints about the others. Everything seems to have just the level of detail I would want - enough to run adventures without being restricting.

The mysteries of the Nexus are, if anything, more mysterious than before.

Unfortunately, the crunch is very limited. There's a fair bit on cyberware (which to my mind is a very minor part of the setting) but again next to nothing on spacecraft - which are the key to the whole "exploration of the New World" theme.

You have to remember that most of these settings are being done as labors of love, by small companies who's (small) staff have day jobs and lives that get problematic (including the deaths of family).
They haven't been wasting their time, either. They've been working hard, revising, changing, fixing and working some more.

While I agree that faster releases would have been better, I completely understand why they've had to be slower about it. And in the mean time, I've found what I've been able to get (including that wonderful Worlds of Adventure) to be very useful in all my True20 games.

Well, I don't like the idea of a 17th century swashbuckler with a feathered hat, aboard a starship. :\ On the other hand, I like the genre in Dune. So my question is: could Lux Aeternum easily be used for a campaign that would look like the Dune universe?

For those interested in Nevermore or in magic items for True20, Liber Artefactorum was released in stores in November 2006.

We're also releasing The Nevermore Gazetteer and the first title in Lands of Nevermore, The Heartlands: Land of Reverie, in March, with The Wyrd soon to follow. We'll be posting art previews shortly. :)

Joseph Miller (the creator of Nevermore) took some time off from producing Nevermore material because he was working on a True20 supplement for Green Ronin, but he's back!

Besides Lands of Nevermore, he also has some adventures in the pipeline and other Nevermore material in the works.
