Interesting. Ok, so I'm just going to do a dump here of ideas as they come to me... 1/ Sounds like Dhaos is going to be the main bad guy... do the players get that idea or will they find out last minute or later? Reason I ask is it might be cool to lead them to believe he is the bad guy, only to have him die in some major catastrophe - then a new menace could emerge from the rubble so to speak - someone/thing much worse 2/ Mind controlling all warforged is a cool idea and maybe (this ties into #1 above) when he goes to try and trigger this massive mind control, it backfires and destroys him and a large area around where this occurred (some factory perhaps?) - a side effect could be that most warforged immediately fall dead where they are, their 'souls' having disappeared. In the Epic Tier the PC's must go into this area, down into the depths of this factory facing all manner of twisted creatures/technology. Maybe at the center of it all is an intelligent being that exists within the factory itself - it could have the memories of all warforged who died from the accident. Another idea could be that instead of dying, the warforged are compelled to go to the factory - only they are allowed in - the living factory could have some elaborate way of keeping others out (sensing life forms and eliminating them, etc). These warforged are used to build an entire army of new, more powerful warforged all of which occurs during the Paragon Tier and comes to a head in the Epic Tier, etc. 3/ Maybe Epa is contained within the artifact and has her own agenda 4/ Maybe the PC's find the artifact early, though they have no idea what it is - it could bring them nothing but trouble as many different forces are attempting to find it. ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS: Prolonged exposure to the cold could cause problems for them... perhaps like diseases... there is an initial effect. It could last for X amount of time, then it moves on to another stage and lasts for X amount of time, then finally moves into some final stage, etc. Could be something like (random example here)... loss of healing surges > slowed movement > etc ENCOUNTERS: a/ Maybe an encounter with some semi-intelligent mechanical constructs... could be like, mechanical dogs...spiders, whatever. b/ Maybe the factory is an old abandoned factory - could have a run in with some non-intelligent warforged - perhaps worker bots gone awry as they were abandoned c/ Maybe the factory is abandoned but there is a small town nearby so they stay there. In town they could discover a number of citizens with slave warforged. On further investigation these could be worker bots that formally belonged to the factory - when the factory was abandoned, they were as well and deactivated. Locals from this town went in to pick the factory of valuables, found the bots and used magic to re-activate and put them to work. Maybe one such bot is locked up as "unstable" - "He rants about nonsense"... they could investigate and this bot could have been the focus of an experiment... it could give them insight on possible future events Anyway, that's all I have for now - have to run to lunch ;)
