Round 23/24 With their shouts to encourage them, four heros emerge from the cave and charge the sahaugin entrenched behind the canoe. Charlyn hussles to the beach side, while Tenebryn, Somac and Tor round the corner on the ocean side. Only Tor is able to attack this round. He swings his chains high overhead and brings them down on a sahaugin archer crouching on the other side of the canoe, splattering the wooden sides with black blood (7 points) Nurlan reloads, and Rinaldo's bolt strikes the side of the canoe with a thump. Irene takes hold of the rope binding Jezibel's hand(?). Ashnar delays, waiting for his moment. The four who charge notice the beach strewn with carcases, and numerous sahaugin scattered in the surf and by the huts. Two fire crossbows at Somac and Tenebryn as they charge forth. One bolt finds its mark in Tenebrynn's side, his first wound of the day (7 pts) The three behind the canoe who reloaded last round rise and fire off their bolts, one at point blank range against Charlyn, which hits painfully on his chest (6 pts). This gives the cleric a chance to return the favor. He smacks the beast a painful blow to the head (6 pts). The other bolts miss Tor. HP summary: Irene 13/13, Somac 16/25, Charlyn 13/20, Nurlan 15/15, Ashnar 9/11, Rinaldo 11/23, Tenebrynn 11/18, Tor 20/24 Round 24 Somac, raging, slashes at the nearest sahaugin with his (what? greatsword or glaive?) but only drives his blade into the sand. Charlyn does better, striking again, and sending his opponent tumbling into the sand in a shower of black blood. Tenebrynn also hits. The pick seems unerring, as it drives effortlessly through the hard green scales directly into the sahaugin's heart, killing it instantly. Tor also manages to finish off his opponent, smashing it into sandy oblivion. Seeing their comrades cut down, the two remaining sahaugin behind the canoe turn and flee, heading around behind the square hut. Elsewhere on the beach, numerous sahaugin reload. Back in the cave, Nurlan and Rinaldo see two sahaugins emerge from the round hut, only 30 feet away. Opening fire, Rinaldo sinks his bolt into the creature's stomach. Nurlan's bolt imbeds in the wooden wall of the hut.
