A stout no nonsense people, with a deep fear of magic, inhabit the country. Caldor has raided into Erenn several times, but has always been stopped by the powers of the Athan Re wizards. To the west of Caldor lies the Witchwood, a place used by mothers to frighten their children into good behavior.The civil wars began with the Baron’s War, a war of succession, which lasted 8 years before many of the factions accepted the crowned king. King Lynwird was forced to make many concessions in his bid for the throne, effectively granting the nobles collective rule. Within two years of the Baron’s War, a cult surfaced called the Order of Divinity. While they seemed innocuous at first the cult was composed of fanatics that demanded they be recognized by the crown. When they were forestalled, a cult leader met with the king to discuss other possibilities. At the beginning of the meeting the Priest Jazon simply walked up to the king and stabbed him with a poisoned knife. After the foul deed was done, Jazon turned the knife on himself, shouting for the faithful to follow his example and destroy the nobility.The cult was driven underground but has not been eradicated completely. Mainly, they have survived due to the power of two wizards that support them, further fueling the fear of wizards in Caldor.</blockquote>
