Machu Picchu (or, why no one ever posts in Plots & Places)

Saw this on cnn.com this morning:

I'd love to visit. But it makes me think of what kinds of things (in D&D terms) might exist here. What kinds of foul beasts might lurk within this places shadowy halls.

Ancient Wizards College

As a potential ruin of an ancient Wizards college and the support industires that grew up arround it, this site could hold all kinds of interesting things.

Anything from unstable teleport or gate points ready to wisk the characters off to some unknown place to strange creatures bred in the labs of wizards and subsequently escaped.

It could be the fantasy world equivalent to the bermuda triangle or some such. All sorts of strange things happen here ever since the college mysteriously vanished.

Or maybe it exploded and the hills and jungle around it still hold srtange treasure to find....
