"Mage Hunter" PrC

At one time, I thought there was a PrC of some type of "Mage Hunter" who tracked down, and killed, mages. He had spell resistance and abilities to help him do hiw job. What am I thinking of? Anyone?

I think that's the Occult Slayer from Complete Warrior. A Prc I'm considering for my character... Although a couple of the abilities don't seem to make a great deal of sense.

"Occult Slayer" sounds like it

Other - non core - class is the Iosian Mage Slayer from the IK-Setting. Very nice class, but strongly tied to setting and very specific motivation. Also, as the IK-Player guide is fresh off the printer's press, seems pretty unlikely you read that more than a few weeks ago.

I was looking for a similar PrC at one time. The Occult Slayer was initially presented as a gladiator PrC in an issue of Dragon, which may be why some of the abilities seemed odd to Inconsequenti-AL. It's certainly not a "hunt down and kill them" type of class. The Mage Killer from MoF was also not what I was looking for either, although I forget why exactly. I think because it was exclusively for spellcasters.

There was a psion-hunter in an older issue of Dragon (the one focused on the original 3E PsiHB) by Monte Cook that could be "flipped" to be a mage hunter instead (by simply changing instances of "psion" to "mage," "psionics" to "magic," etc.).
