Magic Resistance Conversion: Help needed

I combed through the conversion manual and didn't see it.

I have 15% magic resistance in 1st Ed. How to i change that to be SR in 3rd Edition?

TIA..

Interesting... when I computed it myself, I thought the addition should be +12.
Thanks for pointing that out (and asking the question).

Remember that SR takes a caster check (1d20 + caster level) to beat the SR. So, a 1st level caster will beat SR 11 half of the time. That makes 11 your "base" SR.

You'll notice that both Drow Elves, Svirfneblin for example, have an SR of 11 + Class Level.

Actually, no: a 1st level caster will "beat" SR 11 55% of the time -- they only need to equal the SR (minimum roll 10 + 1 = 11), not exceed it (exactly like attacks vs. AC). It's SR 12 that provides a 50/50 chance for 1st level casters.

But, close enough... the 3rd Edition attack bonuses are offset by 5% from AD&D THACOs, too, and it's not a huge deal.

Ooop... Forgot about the equals is success. Ties favor the aggressor, apparently.
