Back on topic- I'm a big fan of crowbars as weapons. In our campaign we ruled that a crowbar would NOT be an "improvised" club. That rule just doesn't make since. According to RAW, if you found a random, wooden stick (a club has no cost, so that's all it is -a stick. It's just presumed to be in some non-awkward, nice "club" shape), anyway, a random stick that was exactly the size and shape of crowbar would somehow be a better weapon than it's all metal twin, an actual crowbar. We ruled that while there's no "improvised" penalty for using a crowbar in combat, it's still not made as a weapon so it shouldn't be any better than a club. We made it a light weapon (so you can't use it two-handed) that's essentially the same as a light mace. We then took it one step further and introduced a "weaponized" combat crowbar (The perfect adventurer tool!) that functions as a one-handed weapon, bumps the damage up one die, and can do piercing or bludgeoning damage depending on how you swing it- so essentially the same as a morningstar. The attached picture is collection of some of my character's weapons, but it shows a masterwork version of our combat crowbar.
