In outdoor settings, the spell operates in a radius of five miles. In natural underground settings the range is limited to 500feet. The spell does not function where nature has been replaced by construction or settlement such as in most cities. Unlike the spell, if the treant is defeated, the staff remains and can be recalled one month later. The treant also can speak with and control trees and a real treant.
