I would've thought that reading difficulty came on a nice neat line, like the grade-level ratings imply it does. We wouldn't necessarily agree on "how much harder" one thing is than another, but i would've thought we'd all agree on which direction something was (harder or easier, that is). I'm a little baffled by how, frex, i can find the D&D3E PH a difficult read and Aria an easy read, while d4 finds Aria difficult and the PH easy.
