Malenti

I have another question. (And I apologise if I keep asking things that have come up before -- I'm relatively new here.)

How did "Malenti" jump from meaning a rare sahuagin mutation that looks exactly like a sea elf (in The Sea Devils, and other 2nd Edition sources) to being a synonym for a four-armed sahuagin mutation (in the Monster Manual v.3.5)?

Does anyone know if this is a mistake, or a deliberate reworking of sahuagin classification?

Mm, I don't believe it is... the 3E MM just lumps the four-armed sahuagin and the malenti together as 'sahuagin mutants', but doesn't make them out to be the same thing.

Yes, you're right. I've been staring at monster entries all day, and I seem to have just misread the 3.5 MM. My apologies :)
