Malladin's Gate Press now welcome submissions from writers wishing to work for us. If you have an idea for a project you want to work on, why not drop us a line and let us know what you've got in mind. EMail our submissions account with brief details of what you would like to work on. Firstly we'll let you know if we're interested in the basic idea, and if so, we'll ask for a proposal off you. After this we will probably ask for a few sample chapters and then send you a contract and once igned we'll just wait for the completed manuscript. Unlike some of the 'big' publishers out there we can't afford to pay you per-word, but we do offer what we believe to be a generous percentage of the retail price of the book (for PDF publishings) and you also retain the copyrights of the work. We offer 40% of the retail price of the book to the author (or pro-rata thereof), but be warned that given typical sales of between 100 and 150 copies, you'll be looking at only a little over half a cent a word for your efforts. This will obviously not suit the more experienced writer, but for some newcomers it may well be your foot in the door to the start of a freelance career. So, what are we after? Well, mainly we'd like to see some offers for books to add to our existing product line, particaluarly those that rate highly in our customer product polls. This only includes the currently published lines as we are working on the new lines oursleves. We would also consider ideas for new product lines and we will also give you an extra 5% cut for the book you write to kick-start the line and for any future books written for 'your' line by other writers. That said, we'll be a lot harder to convince about a new product line than a book for one of our existing lines. Please note, however, that for the moment we are only interested in proposals for D20 products and are not willing to look at submissions for a new game setting. If that lot hasn't put you off drop an email to submissions@malladinsgate.com and we'll get talking.
