Man dies after online game marathon

Couple months back, I sent a link here about a Korean couple's infant that suffocated while they were at an internet cafe playing WoW.

Can't find the link anymore.

Honestly, given the information available it sounds like the guy was having a tough time of it. May have had some physical issues as well. Bummer.

I'm sure if I had some newspapers from the 1800s, I could find salacious stories about men going broke and/or dying after spending all their time play Whist or Bridge or whatever.

Hey, it happens. It's sad, and pathetic (in the true pathos sense of the word), but it does not mean that computer games are evil any more so than card games are evil.

I call it evolution in action. If you can't pay enough attention to the basic needs of your body that you die from it, you don't deserve to keep living.

I don't know...I find the story to be sad. I suspect the guy was having a difficult time in life and was using the game as a means of escape the world. (I don't think he intended to die though).

The story made news because he was marathon gaming when he died. That's what bugs me...the 'game angle' overshadowed the important part of the story...that someone died. I suppose it would not have made news if he had jumped out a window.
