Manifest an Unknown Power from Another’s Powers Known

Here's the relevant SRD link.

If I understand this correctly, you can use your own power points to manifest an unknown power from someone else's powers known and from power stones, which is different from simply activating a power stone. Did I get that right?

I'm helping my girlfriend make a gestalt Wilder/Divine Mind, and we're trying to figure out if this is a way to give her a few utility powers without using the very few powers known spots that she has.

Supposedly (I can't recall where I read it, most likely it was "unofficial" errata) manifesting from a power stone in this way discharges the stone. It's not RAW: by it, as you said, you can use power stones to effectively increase your total of powers known, as long you don't mind spending more time manifesting them than usual. But it's so obviously unbalanced that most people tiptoe around that rule as if it doesn't exist.

Hmm. I think I'll have to ask the DM about this then. I don't want to break anything inadvertantly!
