Mantis Leap + Sandals of Tiger's Leap?

With 3.0 sword and fist could a monk take the feat Mantis Leap to get bonus 2*strength mod to a jump kick and then use the Sandals of the Tiger's Leap at the same time to double that? This doesn't seem right but the rules seem to allow it.

Two doubles equal a triple.

Plus how could you leap like a tiger AND a matis at the same time? It's spiritually impossible!

Just makes it a hybrid jump, just like a lion leap and an eagle peck would be combined to some sort of griffon strike.

So.. mantis + tiger.. that would be one weird looking creature

Correct, though, as Ferret said, two doublings equal a tripling, which is still plenty beautiful. It was quite wonderful, and then they decided to nerf it, which annoyed me to no end.
