Washington) is only 6,288 ft high (and holds the record for highest wind speed ever recorded on the planet).Fire is another explanation.  At least two mountains around here experienced cataclyismic forest fires in the 1700's that burned everything on the peaks, and the wind carried away what was left.  300 years later, they're still bald.Just something to consider!CheersNell.</blockquote>
