Bare earth, scoured to a cracked and colourless crust, form the crown of the skyrealm. Only bits of grass and moss survive in the wind-carved grooves. Beneath the quiet desolation hangs 90 feet of rootless stone, the underside pitted and hollowed as if gnawed on in a past age. Deep shadows pool down here and are reflected on the ground below. When the shadow of Khadruun Drift passes over travelers, they speak of a pressure behind the eyes, a sense of being watched, and a chill that sets into the bone if just for a second or two. Khadruun Drift Skyrealm floats on, indifferent, a forgotten shard of a world. Khadruun Drift wanders the land, slowly twisting and bobbing high among the clouds. This small skyrealm was hollowed out and used as a shrine at some point, with a mooring point on one side. The dungeon is accessible by stairs on top of the drift; and a square vertical shaft pierces the whole island with a small aperture at the top and the full ten foot square opening at the bottom. A large demonic statue looks out through a window in the stone on the lowest level. Something about it seems to repel birds and other wildlife that often nest in similar skyrealms, leaving this island bare of their droppings as well. Khadruun Drift has recently become the lair of the Veyr-Keth, a clutch of lean, four-winged carrion eating harpies. Their feathers are the colour of scorched parchment, and their eyes gleam an unnatural bright green. They roost within the dungeon of the drift, using the shaft to fly in and out of their lair. And they recently swooped down on a farming village and stole away several children, surely being held to be eaten when the harpies fall upon leaner times.
