Scavengers’ Deep – Map 29 The Scavengers’ Deep is a reminder of the amount of work that went into underground structures during the great war. Generally, the elves only built underground when hiding their breeding and research facilities, whereas the forces of the kingdoms, assisted by the dwarves, were constantly building underground as the elves were unrelenting and would completely raze any surface defences that they defeated. But the structures now known as the Scavengers’ Deep are atypical, an elven complex mixing some (ruined) surface structures, natural caves, and significant sprawling underground complexes dedicated to research, training, and breeding their slave species. This is the twenty-ninth map in the Scavengers’ Deep series – this map sits directly east of Map 20, and is the fourth map in the column started with map 26 with map 28 directly to the north. This section brings us to an intersection between the main purposes of the complex – military and scientific and living quarters for those who worked here. The northwest side of the complex is a continuation of the secure facilities that are only accessible via secret doors or the heavily trapped sloping passage between maps 19 and 28. It is entwined with the last elements of the research and scientific setup linked to the set of breeding pits in map 20. The southwest side is the end of the residential areas / hab levels of map 25 that then lead into the main throughways of the southeastern side of the mesa. These lead primarily to military and science facilities, easily accessed from the hab areas. Beneath all this is the continuing caverns that originally twisted throughout the mesa. Low areas along these caverns collect water and are home to a number of giant fungi that are a primary food source for the wretches dispersed from the breeding pits into these depths. Linking the caves to the main throughways is a large muti-tiered circular variant on the breeding pit silos found throughout the complex, with large sliding doors that open into the caverns. This map has many connections to the other maps around it, with passages in all four cardinal directions as well as the cave complexes connecting to the north and east. The 1200 dpi versions of the map were drawn at a scale of 300 pixels per square and are 14,400 x 14,400 pixels (48 x 48 squares) in size. To use this with a VTT you would need to resize the squares to either 70 pixels (for 5′ squares) or 140 pixels (for the suggested 10′ squares that this is designed around) – so resizing it to either 3,360 x 3,360 or 6,720 x 6720 pixels in size, respectively. https://dysonlogos.blog/2026/03/25/scavengers-deep-map-29/
