Maptool Demo This Week!

If any of you are interested in a Maptool demo, please let me know. This week (either Weds or Thurs night), I will be throwing a demo showing off all of the Free Gaming Goodness that can be had with the tools at RPTools.net. I live in the EST and expect to give the demo between 7PM and 10PM (time will be narrowed down as people sign up).

Maptool is a free tool. It allows you to play RPG's with your friends electronically whether it is face to face, over the internet, or using a projector setup. I happen to use it to play D&D every Tuesday night but others like to use it for Savage Worlds and Hero (amongst others).

Again, Maptool is free - we make it for gamers because we are gamers. It runs on Java so no operating system is left in the dark.

Hi, dorpond. As I mentioned on the MapTools forum, I'd be interested.

I thought you mentioned Tue or Wed there, but Wed or Thu works for me just as well. In fact, Thu is probably the best for me.

Yeah, that was an error Azhrei - thanks for the catch! I really meant Weds and Thursday. Since you are the first interested, that is one vote for Thursday evening!

It looks like the demo will be on Thursday this week. So far I am gravitating towards 9PM EST but the time has not been solidified yet until I wait to hear from the people interested so far.

Fantastic! Yeah, the more the better!
We will be sticking to Text Chat in Maptool instead of voice chat. There are so many cool new features in chat that I want to show you all after the 1.2 demo.

Anyone else want in? We are going to have a blast!

It looks like we are going to have a large group tomorrow which is awesome!

To make things a bit smoother, I am hosting the 1.2 portion of the demo right now so that you can connect and make sure you get all the map data (and make sure you can connect).

Later on I will host the 1.3 portion of the demo so that you can also get those resources.

What I suggest:
Since we are going to looking at two different versions tomorrow, it is best that you download the zipped versions of Maptool. Unzip them, and run them when we need them. You can get the zipped version here:

I will be using 1.2B32 and 1.3B14
Make sure you have both ready and don't forget that Maptool needs to have Java installed.

So feel free to connect right now with 1.2 - you won't see much since I hid everything until tomorrow
