And there were rumors that they wanted to stop used games sales by requiring internet activiation.  Huge uproar over both.  Then Stardock does the same thing (this isn't quite a rootkit, but in my first experiences with it on Gal Civ 1, it did make itself run without your consent on startup all the time), and you hear a collective yawn.Still, like I said, they managed to make an already great game better.  I'm not sure I'm crazy about some of the things, like the mega-events, but you can turn them off.</blockquote>
