[QUOTE="Patlin, post: 3925239, member: 17264"] Looking around the room, Sin decides that the ceiling is uneven, ranging from 15' high to 30' high, with an average height of about 20'. The cavern is large and (being underground) dark. To add confusion to this, the illusion is of an outside scene in full daylight, so most of the light that the characters percieve is anything but trustworthy. The eldritch blast came from out of what Sin estimates would be an area of darkness. Sin can think of a lot of possible explanation. One of the most mundane is that somewhere in the darkness, their is a ladder leading to a ledge, and that her oponent has managed to climb up the ladder (move action) and fire an eldritch blast (standard action.) While that's not necesarilly exactly what happened, it's certainly a possibilty. I think (and correct me if I'm wrong) that the main thing confusing Sin is that she didn't take into account that the Warlock might simply have moved outside of the area of shadowy illumination. She isn't necesarilly invisible or even hiding, and you don't get spot checks against an enemy with total concealment. As I recall, Sin does not have darkvision or even low light vision, correct?
