[QUOTE="GreyLord, post: 9892994, member: 4348"] AI is an interesting to mention. I think that's the great debate currently. I feel there is an absolutely astoundingly massive push to get something like this running among the debates (arguments?) in the boardrooms. Think of how many people would want to play solo. Having a way for an actual AI DM (and we could toss in AI players as well) on Beyond would be insanely popular (IMO). I think it may even surpass the normal playing groups with how many would utilize it. I think if that is Chris's intention, he is actually dead on with that push. However, there are those that think there would be massive push back by the current customers. The acceptance of AI is...controversial in some circles currently. There are some that actually feel the same way in the board rooms as well, though the desire to present the board as being united on all fronts rather than having epic debates on the matter. These would rather investigate other ways of promulgating the various games (being against not just D&D, MtG with AI opponents that work more or better than human opponents, etc..etc..etc) in a more traditional space. Some would accuse them of fear, others of common sense (in some ways, AI is still a wild card, tossing a ton of money at it may not actually pay off where other investments may have better results and returns). The bigger argument right now (I feel) is that this is currently impossible to pull off. The AI is not to the point that this could be accomplished. If WotC is going to push this aspect hard, I expect the earliest the AI may be able to be implemented (if they choose to go a route like this) would be 2029 or even 2030 (even if we make great leaps in AI before then, it still would have to be implemented...but I feel they may do experimental trials prior to that if certain people have their way). I feel that what you mention in regards to AI...there are those at the top who absolutely would love to see that happen (and regardless of whether I agree or disagree on the usage of AI, which is probably doing terrible things to the environment most likely) and are pushing hard for this type of implementation in the future (along with other various implementations of AI in the games) of the game and other arenas of WotC (and Hasbro's) offerings.
