(Originally posted by Emiricol) The Small City of Marzen The small city of Marzen in Mittendein lies in the northern region of the realm, on the eastern shores of Lake Valdorane. It is an area of low rolling hills and lightly forested here and there. Marzen has no city walls, just an identifiable city center at the docks area - small docks, suitable for the heavy traffic of light ships that ply the vast expanse of the lake. Authority Figures: Conventional (LN) Baron Karl von Banner, male Nob4/War3 (Ruler of Marzen); Conventional (LG) Mayor Gerhard Seigell, male Exp3/Nob1 (Elected Mayor) Important NPCs: Kolia, female Dwarf Clr2/Exp3 ("Fiery Axe Tavern" barkeep); Politics: The area is nominally ruled by the Baron Karl von Banner, a third cousin once removed of Kaiser Holfdem, but the aging Baron, concerned more with military arrangements and organizing scouts against the orcs that can still be found in the north, appoints a mayor to see to the day-to-day business of the city. The appointment is reviewed every three years, and has been held by Gerhard Seigel since Summer 62.
