Mathghamhna’s Distance Learning Program: The School Of Hard Knocks

I've been kicking around a concept for a character background, based around the creative use of a few game elements. It's the foundation of the background of my PC Wizard/War Weaver and I'd love some feedback as it if it makes sense and if anyone has anything that would be useful to add. In a nutshell, it's a mechanical explaination for how a PC Wizard could still be an academic, while adventuring around in the wild, dangerous, uncivilized world.

This makes perfect sense, and is very well written. You provide compelling arguments as to why and how it would come to be, and detail why a DM would want it in their game. If any of my PCs were even remotely of an academic bent, I would definitely point them towards this with the secret hope that they would buy into it.

One thing that I think you should probably note would be the repercussions of not completing a teacher-given task, and how many organization points you gather through the completion of those tasks; at least as a general guideline for DMs that aren't familiar with having PCs as part of a large organization in their party.

oh... good suggestions. I'll write up some general possible ideas along those lines, but I wouldn't want to take away from a DM the ability to fill in those details.
