Paizo Matt Mercer, Felicia Day Play Pathfinder in Charity Stream

The Lost Odyssey series of live streams has a star-studded addition sponsored by Paizo and Demiplane with the upcoming Lost Odyssey: Godfall. Using the Pathfinder system, the cast includes Matt Mercer (Critical Role) as Ghentros, Felicia Day (The Guild, Geek & Sundry founder) as Sylph, Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Daredevil) as Audrey, Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, Legends of Tomorrow) as Palanon, and Reggie Watts (comedian and musician) as Bronwyn with Game Master Bill Rehor (Beadle & Grimm's).

The live stream is listed as "coming soon" to Geek & Sunday, but the charity page is open now for donations to Extra Life which will unlock gaming gear, show props, and more.

The episode was uploaded to YouTube yesterday (Friday 4/11) and has 29k views. About 2.5 hours in length. I’m just now starting it and leaving it running while I do things around the house.

A couple players look like they may be wearing costumes from Burgschneider site.

Anyone else watch any of it as the start was a little odd and I know a few are actors/voice actors but it seemed like that high school group that has some people create characters more for the fun look at me play style (the little plant pc and voice by Deborah Ann woll) and the other guy that was more for jokes while some were trying to play their characters. I ended up turning it off less than 45 minutes into it but I’ll power through it and watch the rest….

main thing is the extra life donations so donate if you are able.

I watched the whole thing and came away a little... put off.

Something was going on with Felecia Day. She spent the entire time trolling the game and running through essentially 'half the list' of things that regularly pop up on RPG horror stories.

Things she was up to:
  • Steal everything in sight in multiple different scenes.
  • Have her character boob flash people as a negotiation tactic.
  • Repeatedly gesture to her chest and make inuendo about it during follow on social encounters.
  • Demand a reward from their superior officer (they were soldiers in a military unity) before accepting orders.
  • Interrupt people constantly.
And that was all on repeat.

Given that I thought she was the one organizing the thing for charity, it seemed weird that she was trying her best to bomb it. I'd always had a high opinion of her but hadn't seen her recent work so maybe this is her thing now?

Watching this was rough.

Hmmm, haven’t gotten that far but makes me leary of watching the rest. I was more interested in Routh from his Supes and DC tv show. Thanks for the update.

I think its just her sense of humor and I don't think she really took it too far. I wouldn't say any of the other players felt uncomfortable with it for example-- I think she just had it in her head that she wanted to ham it up.

A good chunk of audiences enjoy a bit of cringe. The Critical Role animation is certainly full of it, Legends of Avantris has cringe as a foundation, etc.
