Message: <blockquote data-quote="Badwe" data-source="post: 4659723" data-attributes="member: 61762">Forked from: <a href="http://www.enworld.org/forum/showpost.php?postid=4656391" target="_blank"> New Miniatures...  Info? </a>The debate in the thread I forked from brings up an interesting point: how can you get the most minis for your dollar?  Therefore, I challenge the posters of ENWorld to offer their sage advice.  I offer the following constraints:1) minis need not be produced specifically for D&D, but should generally be vaguely fantasy themed2) Where possible, please include links to good deals, such as an amazon or ebay storefront, or perhaps a link to a FLGS page that employs some form of unique deal3) Any special effort is allowed but should be included.  This includes re-basing, assembling or painting, to name a few.4) If you are making any value decisions besides max ratio of Minis/Dollars, include your value.  For example if you have a method of cheaply acquiring many 3x3 (Huge) or larger minis, then you are my friend and should post that method.My own personal experience was that, due to its loss of popularity, I was able to acquire a number of Mage Knight: Dungeon Minis for relatively cheap.  They  had the added bonus of being dungeon themed and including things like tables and treasure chests for dungeon decoration.  Special considerations I had to make were that the MK bases are slightly larger than an inch: 1.25 inches to be exact.  While rebasing might have been an option for smaller minis, because I wanted to also play MK dungeon I simply limited myself to using the minis as large monsters.  Additionally, a few of the minis have simply extracted themselves from their bases of their own accord, and a few that had wide feet have served well while "free basing."That's my story, let's hear yours!</blockquote>
