Stirling.  I was actually considering the 'dies the fire' series, but this is more of a stand alone book, so I can try out his style.  I didn't make it very far in the last book of his I tried to read (the Domination).Then I'm also considering 'The Enemy Papers' by Barry Longyear.  Its a collection of all of his notes for the drac bible, plus Enemy Mine, and two follow-ups.  I've read it before and loved it every bit as much as the movie.And finally, there's Starship Troopers by Heinlein.  Read it a few times, still love it and I'm getting a certain hankering again.Don't know yet which I'll read, but those are on deck.  Opinions?Of course, right now my 9 year old son and I are reading 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.'  I never get tired of that one, and was absolutely thrilled that he decided he wanted to read it too.</blockquote>
