MC Warlock/Druid

Is it possible to Multi-Class a Warlock with a Druid?
I'm trying to see about getting an interesting companion for even more massive damage as a Warlock? Does this make sense?
Is there a better way?

Actually either one would be good. So either lots of dice rolling, preference, or a bigger area of effect so it hits more enemies.

Thanks.

PHB1 Druid doesn't have a companion. Sentinel Druid from HotFK does, but AFAIK there is no MC feat that gives access to its companion. You can Hybrid Sentinel (found in Dragon 400, this isn't yet in the Compendium). Your other options include MC Shaman, and that's pretty close to it. You could pick up the Animal Master theme or MC to an Arcane class and get a familiar. You could be a Ranger hybrid as well.

I'll just say, none of these are terribly potent options. Hybrid Sentinel might work OK, but I really don't know. I'll suspect stat synergy is low, but you could maybe do it with CON. Anyway, none of these look like great options.

I'd opt for a non-mechanical solution. See if you can get your DM to let you tame some sort of animal. It will be an NPC, but there are some types of animals you might get away with. Doesn't offer the same level of control as a class feature, and WILL count as a party member generally, but could be fun.

The other option would be to use HoS and rebuild your character as a Binder, but that will probably not turn out too great. In any case from what I can see at level 9 any warlock can use the Binder's summoning power. And that may be the best answer is to get a summons of some sort (Figurines of Wondrous Power are a possibility too).

There are also other classes like the Psion (Shaper, from AP) that have summoning powers- if course, you'll have to MC AND Power Swap to get those powers. (I'm doing that with my Starlock.)

The nifty thing is that, depending on your Warlock's pact & power selection, Int is a fairly important stat for your rider effects...and it's the primary stat for the Psion.

How do I MC to a psion? Can you give me a peek at your build or advice on how to modify mine to allow the Psion MC and power swap to fully utilize the combined abilities?

All you need to do is take the appropriate MC feat. The Druid's is in PHB2, the Psion's is in PHB3.

The Psion MC feat gives a skill (I chose Dungeoneering) & access to an Augmentable At-Will which will be usable ONLY as a non-Augmentable Encounter power (I chose Static Mote from PP).

That power gave me a little Control: it's an AoE that slows & damages foes. Good minion-sweeper and helps set up kills for me and other PCs. I think I have used it in nearly every encounter so far.

I went Psion for the Dungeoneering skill- RP reasons- but Static Mote and the Shaper Summonings are very much in keeping with the PCs "Far Realms" theme.

For a Warlock, Psion Summonings could be characterized as echoes of hellish beings, shadows of Fey/Ur creatures, etc., based on your Pact. My guy will be taking things like Phantasmal Killer...at 11th level or so, and 2 other "Mote" powers a bit later. That's more a function of what I want to do with the PC than a lack of options- Shapers have Summonings available at all levels.

But the thing is, you can find that kind of thing with ANY summoning class that uses a stat that is either key to your pact's powers or is significant for your rider effects. Even without stat synergy, you can have fun.

Shamen rely on Wis, which isn't the most important stat for Warlocks, but they have LOTS of summoned creature options- more than the Shaper Psion.

There is the 2nd level psion utility Telekinetic Lift which would be great fun for a Druid who focuses on storm or earth type magic. You could drop a 400 lb statue 50' on to an enemy, and you could keep that up every other round for one encounter. Or if you wanted to be devious lay down a large shield at a choke point and ready Telekinetic Lift for when an enemy enters the square - they go up 15' with the shield and then can continue their move. ;)

It's just a cool power that has Druid written all over it.
