I'm looking for a one or two more players (ages 22-40 - our average age is about 30) for an established city-based campaign - check out http://www.geocities.com/dmsteve2002/. We play in Germantown MD (northwest of DC) every two to three weeks on Saturday nights. I'm looking for gamers who are friendly, easy-going, mature and interested in playing as a group of friends. I don't allow evil characters and I'm not interested in dealing with any inter-party theft or conflict. I've also toned down the magic levels of Forgotten Realms considerably. There's still plenty of magic items to be had, they're just not commonplace. The campaign takes place in a modified version of the Forgotten Realms and 75% of the action takes place in Waterdeep. A local, powerful wizard's guild called the Xaltheon Consortium is central to many of the plots, as well as Kraken (a thieves guild type of organization) and the Zhentarim. This campaign is a mix of role-playing, action, mystery and political intrigue. Regarding character creation, characters will start at level 6, but pure character maximizers and rules laywers should look elsewhere - that definitely doesn't fit in with this group, which encourages character concepts and roleplaying over raw power. Don't get me wrong - your character will still be strong, just not superman. ;P Characters should be more inclined toward the good side and want to have a great time working together as a team of friends. That doesn't mean I'm looking for goody two shoes - I really like roguishness, but in the likable, Han Solo kind of style. I'm even discouraging lawful good as an alignment for this city campaign because there's a lot of roguishness the characters are involved in. House rules: Regarding expansion materials, I'm only using those listed on the website. I use all the spells from the Player's Handbook and many, many more from several other expansion books. Some spells, though, I've banned or modified (including Fly and Invisibility until a character reaches level 9), so players should choose spells from my approved list. If you're interested, e-mail me at sj2005 @ comcast.net (do not include spaces). Thx!
