Mechanician Conversion

Steampunk

First Post
Just wondering if anyone remembers the Mechanician (Clockwork Mage) kit from the Sha'ir's Handbook for 2nd Edition D&D, and if so, if anyone has any idea where I can find a conversion for the class. My group is starting a new game on saturday, and I'm going to be the party wizard. Thing is, I always love to work with machines, so I was thinking about playing one if I could find a good conversion for it. My character's a automaton already (the stilt mechanus from Construct Mechanus), so I thought that would be pretty cool to play a machine that can build more machines and all that stuff.

You might want to check out the Effigy Master and Maestro (sp?) in Complete Arcane. They are kind of along the lines of "clockwork mages".

Complete Arcane?

Perhaps I'm an idiot, but I've never heard of the Complete Arcane (or maybe I've heard of it, but can't remember it). I normally don't play wizards and the like, but stick to my own created Inventor classes and stuff, so I usually just don't pay attention to wizard stuff that comes out. Anyway, what company, where can I find it on the net and stuff like that.

Well regardless, thanks.

Don't know if you've already got the answer, but Complete Arcane is part of the Complete series that Wizards of the Coast has put out.
