Medieval Bard Rock Band Campaign Player's Handbook Now Available for Free

Once upon a time, there were 3 D&D players that wanted to be in a rock band in real life. The problem was they had little to no talent, and what talent they did have was hindered (read as wives, kids, bills and all the other fun of life). Yet they wanted the sex, drugs, and rock and roll thing. The answer? Be in a rock band in D&D.

If you guys read earlier posts on this campaign I am DM'ing, here is part of the finished product I created to help me deal with it. It's a 34 page .rtf format doc, readable in the major word processors, 18 meg or so. I was going to attach it here, but I figured it was too big. It's such a cool document that everyone would download it and it would bring ENWorld to a screaching crash. :)

Anyhow, it is available as a link in the upper right hand corner of my blog, listed below. Feel free to download it.

You can also just click here:

It's pretty different, with an entirely new take on bards. Any advice, input, criticism or feedback of any kind would be helpful.

I begin typing the DM portion tonight, which i think wil be at least double the length of the player's portion. I'll add that when I have it.

Edit: Forget to mention, its a first draft, i began writing it yesterday afternoon, so i know there are dumb mistakes and wording issues. :)

Take care...

Hey Joe.

I downloaded it, but I'm prepping for DMing today, so I won't get a chance to read it until tomorrow at the earliest.

It does sound fun!

One thing, though, you might consider mediafire as your downloading site. Rapidshare has a wait and if you don't have an account, it takes 15 minutes to download the next thing.

Mediafire is just that much more friendly.

Thanks for the tip. I never heard of Mediafire, but I'll check it out and likely transfer it over. Enjoy the book. :)

edit: added it on mediashare, and a link above to it there. thx for the tip!

It wouldn't read as an rtf doc on my Mac and many other rtfs do. It said it was damaged, corrupted, or in an unexpected file format. When I converted it to .doc it opened, but flashed on the screen several times.

that's odd, i thought rtf was a generic word processing document. i can convert it to doc format if needed, no problem, as i created it with word 2007. does anyone else have this issue?

edit---aded it in .doc format for word, and holy crap it shrunk it by like 10 x less. 1.7 meg now. enjoy.

I was just planning on doing an all Bard 4E game :)
Not for your players' motives, just because it might be fun.
I'll definitely check your docs out :D
That and "Soul Music"
Thanks!
