His parents had a boxed set of AD&D in the game closet.Garrett looked the items over but just didn’t get it.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Calibri'"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: #000000">Chapter 2: It starts with a woman. Level 1 Novice GamerGarrett becomes friends with Mari and is invited to his first roleplayingsession. In a Shadowrun game, his first character gets his butt kicked fightinggiant bugs in Chicago. Mari’s character gets killed and sold to the crazy folksstill living in Chicago. This is followed by Garrett sticking with it andfollowing the group into an Earthdawn campaign. </span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Calibri'"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: #000000">Chapter 3: Level 2 Gamer Garrett, now permanently attachedto Mari, discovers in the FLGS a Star Wars D6 game. This changeseverything. Soon after, Garrett findsParanoia and Star Wars d20 and even WEG’s Indiana Jones. Things get out of hand, and Garrett decides to use that success to runthe Dawn of Defiance Campaign. </span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Calibri'"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: #000000">Chapter 6: By 2010, Level 6 Journeyman Gamer Garrett has twoStar Wars Saga campaigns going full steam and an actual play podcast on thed20radio.com site. </span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Calibri'"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: #000000">Chapter 7: Things get blurry as Level 10 Jedi Master GamerGarrett goes on a gaming rampage, running Dungeons and Dragons Encounters andearning his keep at GenCon by running D&D for Baldman Games. He’s runningMarvel Heroic, Pathfinder, Doctor Who, Deadlands, Deadlands Noir, Savage WorldsIndiana Jones. He’s playtesting Dungeons and Dragons 5tgh Edition and playingDresden Files, Edge of the Empire, Call of Cthulhu and of course Paranoia. He’spublished through the Gaming Security Agency an entire Edge of the Empirecampaign and interviewed Modiphius’s Chris Birch. Through Threat Detected, theStar Wars actual play podcast, he’s interviewed Rodney Thompson, SterlingHershey, Owen Stephens and Sean Patrick Fannon. He’s a regular guest on theMisdirected Mark podcast and a staple at WNY gaming convention. Garrett has histhree nephews hooked on gaming and runs games for them on roll20.net.
