MEG Hal

First Post
Explore the new Dogs of War – Series I with issue number 2, bigger and better than before! Two new NPCs await your Player Characters, each with three full stat blocks at different challenge ratings! Full character backgrounds, numerous optional adventure hooks, special Use in Bluffside, Freeport, and Gothos sidebars, combat tactics, full color art, and ideas on converting the characters to alternate (non-fantasy) genres are included for each NPC.
Every character is designed to make full use of Open Game Content, combining elements published in some of the finest d20 products available. All information needed to use the material is included. In addition, each character includes all new Open Game Content never before published! Located at the end of each character write-up, the Design Notes section identifies the sources of the Open Game Content and also gives insight into the design of each character and how it came to be.
The first character, Arjanis, hails from the desert sands. He is a variant drider half-orc ranger/cleric with a talent for locating lost temples. Arjanis is fully detailed at CR 10, 15, and 20. The Crunchy Bits for Arjanis include 3 drider templates (spider, scorpion, and giant wasp), 3 spells, and a weapon special quality; the entirety of the Crunchy Bits section is Open Game Content.
The second character, Jhessa, is an exotic half-kraken/half-drow from a lightless, subterranean sea. She is detailed at CR 13, 18, and 23. The Crunchy Bits for Jhessa include pricing for 8 wands, the necklace of fangs, the half-kraken template, and 3 spells. As always, all of the Crunchy Bits are Open Game Content.
Whether you need detailed new foes, new adventure ideas, or new materials to add to your campaign, Dogs of War has you covered. With over 20 pages, there is something for everyone in this exciting new issue! Go ahead, release the hounds…

Also, for those who do not have number 1 there will be an issue 1 and 2 bundle for 5 dollars. DoW2 is 2.50. DoW is sold exclusively at RPGNow.

I got a copy of Dogs of War 02 and I have to say it is pretty amazing!

Not only are there two highly-detailed and fascinating characters, but it's cleverly designed so that you can use them for THREE different d20 settings. There are also tips on how to use them for non-d20 games!

I love the crunchy bits and I will definitely be using the rules on "Creating a Drider", "Creating a Scorpion Drider", and "Creating a Wasp Drider" which should be great fun.

I can't believe you're selling 27 pages of all this cool stuff for only $2.50! This is going to be a collectible series.

Dogs of War has a great author in Charles who, if I had to say has any faults at all, is he writes to well to cut anything. SO, DoW just keep growing.
Based on that, I am not sure if the price will always stay 2.50 but that is where we wanted it to be.

Thanks for the comments!

Feedback

Hey folks!

I just found two great reviews of the second installment of Dogs of War, one by Joe Kushner and another by Kithmaker over at Mortality.net. Thanks for taking the time to review the product!
As a writer, I always take time to read reviews (good or bad) and consider the recommendations, problems, and whatnot discussed.

For those who have either or both of the Dogs of War issues, give me some feedback. What do you like? What do you dislike? As a monthly PDF project, this has plenty of potential to adapt. I can't promise that a given suggestion will be implemented, but I will take all comments into consideration when designing future issues.

I've had a few people tell me about how characters or materials for DoW are being incorporated into their campaigns. If you use any of the material, I'd love to read about it here!

Thanks!

I really liked Dogs of War 2 (the alternate driders work so well for my current PBEMs---da players are gonna hate me:D )

Any chance on getting a hint of what is coming up in the next one?

Ask and ye shall receive

Dogs of War 3 is almost ready, it is in the last stages of editing currently. First, you'll notice it is even bigger than issue 2! I can't give an exact page count as it hasn't gone through layout yet, but it's gonna be large!

It will contain a new race, including their deity, racial variants, and several templates. Hint, they are covered in scales, hiss a lot, and did I mention they are venomous?

Also, you'll get a new template designed to work with psionics or magic (at the GM's choice) to create some very interesting opponents.

In addition to all the new material (which is released as Open Game Content), you'll find some of the finest OGC material available gathered here to supplement these resources.

Naturally, all of this "crunch" is tied together in the form of two detailed NPCs presented at 3 different levels. Tons of adventure hooks, new sidebars, and a few tweaks based on fan and review feedback help make this the best offering in the series yet.

Thanks for your interest!
