[MEG] Seeking Phase II Playesters for Fall of Man

MEG Hal

First Post
Fall of Man is a Post-Apocalyptic Fantasy Horror Setting set on earth after a meteor sets catastrophic events in motion. Guns, horrific monsters straight from the dreams of the dead and the invasion of fantastical beings such as elves and dwarves.

Live in the world where man is hunted for sport. Attempt to survive...the Fall of Man.

WANTED
We need regular groups who can be active during this critical phase of the playtest. Active playtestings requires at least a session every two weeks, either playing a campaign of the groups design using Fall of Man or running the playtest scenarios. Playtesters during this phase should have at least one individual capable and interested in active participation in discussions on the playtest list and the ability to print out the game material.

The phase II active playtest dates will be from 04/01/04-06/30/04.
Playtesters will get credit in the book, and active groups will recieve free MEG product.

Help us make our first hardback complete OGL game the best blend of fantasy, horror, and post-apocalyptic in existance.

Please e-mail Ken Shannon at kensh@mysticeyegames.com with group size and previous playtest credits.

Thanks,

Sadly our group only meets once every 2 weekends and I've been itching to run Arcana Unearthed for about 8 months, so I'm gonna be starting that next Saturday and thus won't be applying for this. My question is when are you guys shooting to have this available? GenCon release or more like Christmas time? I ask b/c my birthday is in August and this sounds like a good request from the wife *grin* Been curious about this one ever since Hal showed us the cover art.

LOL, this is a GenCon scheduled release. Also once every two weeks is the minimum the group can meet as long as you run FoM. If you want a first look and the players will let you switch for awhile, e-mail Ken!

HAL I would absolutely LOVE to throw my hat into the ring on this one...unfortunately it's very likely that I am going to be spending some time in one of those "lovely" tourist spots that have been on the nightly news so often as of late (if you know what I mean lol).

That being said I'm probably not going to have the time to give this project the time it deserves...*sigh*

However...as luck would have it, a good friend (and former longtime DM of mine) and I were discussing the seemingly ubiquitous love/hate relationship with Rifts (love the settings but hate the mechanics) when I mentioned FOM as a possible source of ideas. He was definitely interested in the premise and was planning on taking a look at it when it came out.

So to make a short story long (or something to that effect)...I went ahead & passed on the info that you are in need of playtesters and hopefully he will be able to fit it into his group's schedule.

While the playtest begings on the 1st of april, we will accept groups who can only playtest for a portion of the time, as longas that portion is roughly one month or more.

Ideally we would love some more non-internal groups running campaigns within it.

Thanks,
Ken Shannon

I've received a number of additional questions regarding the playtest which I want to answer:

1) For phase II we are willing to take testers who can not commit for the full three months of playtesting as long as they have a sincere interest.

2) Single people without a group, but who are interested in discussing and commenting on the material, will be considered for this much more open phase of the playtest.

3) At this phase, we are not interested in doing store demos, though we will be at a later time.

Thanks,
Ken Shannon

Some questions . . .

Are you taking only a certain number of playtesters? When will the playtesters be contacted with more information?

I can't wait to get started . . . but the wait is killing me! :)

Now this I could do. Like I said earlier I would try and convince my group of Fall of Man but a)things are pretty hectic and unsure on who we have from session to session and b)AU kinda consumed me heh.

We still have a number of slots and due to the NDA process will be taking playtesters through the end of the month. Though the earlier the better.

PLaytesters who have contacted me should recieve access this sunday or when their NDA's get back to me, whichever comes first.

Thanks for the questions.

See ya,
Ken Shannon

Oh and for those who (like me) lack a printer and wanna get their NDAs in quickly...in Adobe 6 you can setup a digital signature. Ken and Doug have confirmed for me that doing this is just dandy, so go ahead and digitally sign your document and send it in.

I'm such a geek that I find digital signatures this cool heh.
