After the meeting adjourns, Nurlan seeks out the Thalasks. "Greetings again, Sir Baron and Miss Thalask. I'm glad Hendrallia has decided to join our effort. As I said before, I don't know anything about this lichwyrm, or how serious its threat, but it is ominous enough to be worth at least some effort to find out." If he can get a moment with Alicia without the Baron within earshot, he'll be a little more candid. "I was pleasantly surprised by his vote. I had worried after our talk earlier that he wasn't willing to listen to reasoned pleas. Sure, I appreciate his skepticism. Maybe this alarm will turn out to be false, but I'd rather take it seriously and later learn it wasn't a real threat than the other way around. But I was wondering. Since your grandfather's support seems quite ambivalent, do you think we can really count on Hendrallia's help if it turns out we need it?" ********************** Later, he mostly mills around with whoever among the Orussus group is available. He'll tell them the story of how he, Rinaldo, Ashnar and Tenebrynn became knights of Monemvassia. "We were hired to track down a would-be usurper. When we found him, he was working for an evil black dragon he called mother. We first captured his associate, a crafty but cowardly illusionist who feared Monemvassian justice so much he agreed to serve us in exchange for not turning him over. But he then betrayed us. In the process both Ashnar and I were killed, brought back from the other side only by the blessings of the priests of Sela, firm as stone. The dragon and her disciple captured us, and we only escaped only by our wits, finally managing to kill the would-be usurper and evade the dragon. We got away just in time, as the island where we had chased him was being destroyed by a volcano. "So, we made it back to Monemvassia, alive and with our mission accomplished, where to our surprise, the double-crossing mage had been hired as Court Wizard! Imagine that. He had been so afraid of Monemvassian justice, but it turned out that the king and crown prince have a more merciful tendency than their reputation would make out. I must say, I do find it a little disconcerting to have the man who killed me once already serving as one of the closest advisors to the city's rulers. I was quite taken aback when I saw him here today. He's the delegate from Monemvassia, the one who had nothing to say but to listen and then agree." He will speak this way only to other members of the group that came from Orussus. Any time delegates from other cities are around (except possibly Rayne), he'll hold off on this particular tale.
