ATLANTA, GA – March 4, 2026 – Meow Wolf, Exalted Funeral, and Genuine Entertainment are thrilled to share that TAVERS: The Meow Wolf Roleplaying Game is now live on Kickstarter.
In this portal-hopping, mystery-solving TTRPG, players assume the role of TAVERS, interdimensional travelers who use Source (the fountain of creative energy) to open portals between worlds and wield wild powers that rewrite the rules of reality itself.
Since TAVERS don’t play by the rules, the game does its darnedest to break its own rules and deliver something truly unique to the table. Your ever-fluctuating skills come and go with your memories – not just your own, but those you create, buy, trade, share with your group, or even find growing in the wild. Managing your items and abilities is a mini-game of its own, too.
“No one sits you down and tells you the story of a Meow Wolf experience,” says lead designer Tiger Wizard. “You find it. And it finds you.” After that fashion, each player gets to grab the wheel on their turn – controlling not just their Taver, but also the direction of the story and what discoveries lead to the next chain of events. This “exquisite corpse” style of collaborative storytelling lets everyone add their own Taver flavor to the immersive experience, and the fun is never knowing what’s coming, bouncing off each other’s schemes on the fly, and unleashing your weird upon the world we know… or a new universe of your own making.

Tiger Wizard (he/him), aka Andrew Bellury is an Ennie Award-nominated game designer & illustrator for indie TTRPGs. He's the senior game design wizard and press/media manager at Exalted Funeral, and co-host of Exalted Funeral’s Coffee & Coffins, as well as the Mad Dungeon Podcast.
