Merak Spielman, the Shadowed Poet's First Fight

The dragon sings through the cavern; waves away the rising of the tides! *yen*

Lo, and the Dragon Sanctus Togashi sings again! This time his great deep lungs (cavernous) blows away any chance the tides will rise to meet him. Dragon Clan Champion singing? Why not :)

Oh, and thank you Midknight for filling in. I was getting upset with the delay, and was frustrated that this round had stopped for some time.

OOC: Thanks.

Forgive me m'lady, but sometimes I do have that effect on women. I shlold have warned you.
The Poet looks genuinely embarrased and does not seem to consider the possibility that the Lady might have had some other reason to stand in a daze.

Let's see you overcome THIS belittlement!

The scythe dances higher than the atoll; avoids the tempest of the settlement!

edit: altered my flavor text.

OOC: I shall continue (once again, with your consent) until Sabaron can return. :)

IC:
A soft groan and a minor shake of the head can be seen from the cloaked figure.

After a short pause, a hand rises and points to Sanctus Togashi again.

Point Sanctus Togashi! Two Flags Sanctus Togashi, One Flag Neutral

One Yen Sanctus Togashi

OOC: nah, don't mind a bit. Thanks Midnight!

The dragon shreds the waterfall; absorbs the cut of the settlement!

Time for another settlement move!
I think it's got something to prove!

OOC: Is it just me, but has my poetry been getting steadily worse as the match goes on?

OOC: I think what happens is we get wrapped up in the match, because it gets more interesting... causing us to forget that about 50% of the match is just the fluff...

The secret weasel destroys the cliff; reduces the kick of the grave!

Sanctus Togashi bends his knees and focuses his Kai. He forms an illusory double of himself in the exact same place he stands, making it appear that the illusion isn't there yet. Then, Sanctus Togashi appears to jump into the sky to come down on his opponent with his sword, while the illusion appears to stand still on the ground.

What actually happens: Togashi's illusion attacks from above, while Sanctus attacks like a weasel from below, attempting to destroy the poet, and his footing: the cliff. Then Sanctus attempts to block any solid kicks to his upper body, and avoid any grave danger.

Fists of Fury!

The foot tumbles near the tundra; dodges the chi of the bird!

Sanctus then tumbles behind his enemy and tries to land a solid foot near the opponent, forcing him to freeze up like the tundra itself.

OOC: Ig... long, and also had to edit the URL to fix the colors.[/color]

After what seems to be an eternity of waiting, the cloaked one's hand raises. All grows silent as the soft voice floats on the wind.

"Shredding a waterfall seems to be a pointless endeavor as water has no form. But to destroy a cliff..."

Point Sanctus Togashi! Match Sanctus Togashi!

Merak Spielman - This seems to be a rather painful way to introduce yourself to the world of YB! After you pick yourself back up off of the ground, you realize that you haven't really lost anything in this match. You remain at the rank of White Belt and now have a record of 0 wins and 1 loss. As pennance for your failure, your teacher has you clean out the horse stables for a week.

Sanctus Togashi - A little overkill there, no?! Congratulations are in order though, by beating up on the poor little Poet, you have achieved the rank of Green Belt 0. You may open your own Dojo now. You have now mastered the Sword style taught to you by your sensi and may now take it as your own. And you have gained mastery of the style of the Weasel as well. You may ask another dojo master to teach you of another style to take on as your next dojo style. The power of the Chi Strike is now yours to use at your disposal and you have gained control of your emotions as well. Fare thee well.

OOC: That was fun. At least I won the first point.

IC:

The words I would like to say are best said with the poetry of a different poet, dead these long years. He composed this while in a hospital and not expecting to live.

from Invictus

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the Captain of my soul.

To Sanctus Togashi: You fight with the strength of many men, worthy opponent. It was an honor to be defeated by you.
