Yeah. Heard that line before. A few months ago, we has a similar horror story in our town (pop 8,000). Amerun, the Natural Gas Company was in the middle of upgrading all the low pressure Gas lines into High Pressure Ones. Some genuis with the company managed to hook the High Pressure line into the Low Pressure System (which Amerun says they didn't think was even possible). Everyone's Pilot light in town jumps up to a height of 3 feet. I'm at work 30 miles away & hear on the news that me town has exploded (that's what the radio said). Our town of 8,0000 and 3 firetrucks had to respond to over 40 blazes. They called in Fire Departments from 80 miles away to try and get everything under control. Had one 1880's Gothic Victorian B&B had to be totally gutted ($80,000+ damage). I called my wife, frantic to find out wether or not our house blew up. (Turns out we've already had our lines upgraded to the High Pressure System) In the end, it wasn't as bad as it first was made out to be, but a lot of minor (and some major) fire damage was reported. Of course, Amerun got stuck holding the bag. There was no question about what got screwed up or by whom (plus a lot of media coverage). They had to stick a Represenative at the Courthouse for 3 days as he took reciepts about the damages (plus any bit**** out people felt compelled to give). I sure he was a happy camper. Fortunatly no one was hurt/killed. Of course, Amerun just had a Dam burst in the Missouri Bootheel. Bunch of flooding & some kids hurt. Not their year. Glad you are OK.
