Metamorphosis Alpha RPG getting a new edition?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but somehow I missed there will be a new edition of Metamorphosis Alpha RPG by Signal Fire Studios; which I only discovered while looking over the Free RPG Day product list. According to their website it will use a new system designed by Jamie Chambers, who last I knew was working at MWP but now seems to be running Signal Fire. I'm excited that MA is getting a new edition, but mixed about the new system. I don't think I have to mention what happens when a system change occurs.

So what's everyone's thoughts on this?

This seems like the second or third time I have heard such a thing in just the last two years or so. The last iteration (or two) of M:A I can't say I cared for (Aliens on an asteroid what? Not that I recall much more than that.) I know the original is on sale at Lulu via POD.
As for a new iteration, I'll believe it when I see it.

I always thought the problem with MA wasn't so much the rules, so much as the DM had to do a lot of work, since basically he had to design 90% of the ship.

Sure, you have to do that in a lot of games, but it's easier coming up with a fantasy village or dungeon than a lost generation starship. You can borrow from the real world or history or fantasy novels, while for MA, the only resource I can really think of is that 70s SF show the Star Lost (same premise). But that was pretty awful past the first few episodes...
