Written by Daniel Tyler Gooden, also the author of Baeg Tobar novel The Unmade Man, "The Broken Mantle" was started with artist Rick Hershey, owner of Empty Room Studios. When Hershey had to leave the comic to focus on other projects in early April, Hamlett joined Gooden and colorist Ramiro Diaz Legaspe to complete the team.</p><p></p><p>Hamlett began working with Baeg Tobar as a concept designer. His work on the sky ship design for one of Baeg Tobar's new fantasy races, featured in the public forums at the Tangled Muse, convinced founder and owner Jeremy Mohler that Hamlett was the man for the job. "I've known Mike for a while and his work has always impressed me," said Mohler. "When Rick Hershey decided to move on, I felt it was a perfect opportunity to talk to Mike and get him more involved in Baeg Tobar. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with the comic!"</p><p></p><p>"Mike's concept work for BT has been truly original and amazingly beautiful," commented Gooden.
