[QUOTE="neobolts, post: 7677577, member: 65244"] Great interview. WotC seems to know what they are doing, and its good to know they have some autonomy within Hasbro. More frequent communication like this would be great. My thoughts: *Mearls tackles some of the hand-wringing of fans (guilty as charged) in a way that was very reassuring. The health of the tabletop line is an essential part of these interviews. *The fighter regrets weirded me out enough that I made a separate post. *Anytime a standalone psionics book gets hinted at is a good thing. It's one of those iconic books that feels like fresh content and not like a shovelful of variant option (like the rules creepers Sword and Fist series, Complete X series). OA and MotP have that iconic feel as well. *Along those lines, Sword and Fist and Complete Whatever are great examples of what I think they should avoid. Mearls was spot on talking about avoiding rules knowledge overload for DMs. * Regarding Concentration, controlling the IMHO outrageously laborious spell stacking and tracking that 3.5/Pathfinder are mired with was an important choice that I was pleased to see 5e embrace. That said, I hope that the designers at least realize that the concentration rule could have been implemented better (minimum damage taken thresholds before triggering checks, some magic items and abilities that riff on but don't abandon the concentration rules, clear marking of concentration spells in spell lists to aid in prep choices).
