Mearls will show seminar participants the "rules behind the rules" -- what makes D&D different from other game systems, how spells determine what characters and monsters can do, and how to evaluate new rules that you or other designers have created. </p><p></p><p>"Mike Mearls is one of the most skilled rules writers in the business," says Space-Crime Continuum owner Chris Aylott, "and we're thrilled that he's going to share some of his secrets with us. Anybody who's curious about how games work can benefit from this seminar."</p><p></p><p>One of less than 25 full-time freelance writers in the game industry, Mike Mearls has written or contributed to over 50 RPG books in the last 3 years. He has worked with a wide variety of publishers, including Wizards of the Coast, Alderac Entertainment Group, Atlas Games, Fantasy Flight Games, Kenzer and Company, and others. He is also a frequent contributor to Dragon Magazine.</p><p></p><p>The seminar has an admission fee of $10.
