Mini Storage

First Post
Over the past few years, our group's collection of minis has grown by leaps and bounds - so much so that it can be a real pain hunting through the sea of plastic figures to find what you want.

I recently have been searching for an organizational solution, such as a tackle box, etc. However, for as many compartments that a tackle box has, they are small and can only hold 10 or fewer figures. I have Battle Hive, but use that primarily for toting dice and books around.

Can anyone suggest a mass mini storage conatiner, with the ability to seperate humanoids, undead, etc.?

I'm not sure what tackle boxes you are looking at but 10 is extremely small.
What I would suggest, is not to buy a tackle box per se, but would get a storage box carrier and however many boxes you need. You'll want to use #360 boxes. This is an easily customizeable solution and one that can grow with your collection. (I use the presidents bag for ALL of my gaming gear as a GM (books, minis, supplies, etc.) It weighs a ton when I'm finished and I had to put it on wheels, but no more 30 trips to the car when I game. :)
Since you are just doing minis I would just get a carrier and the 360 boxes - I provided a link for you. If you are handy with fabric and sewing machine, you can make the bag yourself and put the savings into more boxes, color code the bags for type, alignment, etc of minis. The possibilites are as endless as your imaginiation.

I am with Thunderfoot here, the soft tackle boxes are the way to go. I have a small one that holds 5 plastic cases and it holds well over a 100 minis, all I need. I have seen some larger bags that could hold a lot more than mine does.

The only issue I have is that Giant sized minis such as those in Wotc Giants of Legend packs do not fit in what I have bought. There may be boxes that are large enough to do this though.

Good luck,

Yeah, I use the large Plano tackle box. Holds a few hundred and has the bottom open where huge's fit quite nicely.

(Note: it's advertised for $40+ at this site, but it's available at Wal-Mart for $20.)
